Our history

  • 1945 : Creation of GARBOLINO by Mr Henry GARBOLINO. The French company develops and manufactures fishing rods.
  • 1969 : The company moves to Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine and starts to impregnate glass fabrics for the production of composite fishing rods.
  • 1974 : The group Viellard Migeon et Companie (VMC) acquires GARBOLINO
  • 1975 : First fishing rod made out of carbon composites
  • 1989 : The company builds towpreg impregnation lines and filament winding machines in order to reduce the cost of fishing rods. The Viper Process is born.
  • 1992 : Creation of the holding VIELLARD SA (VSA) by Mr Paul-Henri VIELLARD. VSA acquires GARBOLINO.
  • 2000 : Creation of VITECH CE by the holding VSA, to manufacture low cost fishing rods in Slovakia.
  • 2001 : A prepreg line is designed and built for light areal weight carbon UD tapes in Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine. Garbolino starts aerospace activities: it produces composite tubes used in aircraft kerosene gauges.
  • 2004 : Creation of VITECH AEROSPACE by the holding VSA, to produce helicopter blades
  • 2007 : Creation of VITECH COMPOSITES by the holding VSA. Investment of a filming machine. VITECH takes care of the impregnation of fabrics, UD tapes and towpregs for GARBOLINO.
  • 2012 : GARBOLINO solds its fishing rods business and brand name. VITECH COMPOSITES still produces composite tubings for aerospace, industrial and sport applications.
  • 2013 : VITECH develops the VITOW, a low-cost towpreg for automated fiber placement and begins the commercialization of prepregs.
  • 2015 : VITECH decides to stop its impregnation lines in solvent route. UD tapes and fabrics are impregnated with hotmelt epoxy and towpregs with chemical B-stage epoxy.
  • 2016 : VITECH COMPOSITES expands its prepreg business in the marine industry.
